Dripex Magnetic Rowing Machine Review
DRIPEX BACKGROUND
Perhaps not the most inspiring name for a fitness brand (sounds more like a plumbing product), but that aside, Dripex also have a range of low-cost exercise bikes, rowers and treadmills.
The Dripex Magnetic rowing machine is a compact model that's actually pretty good value for money. Although compact, the design means the rail is a good length making it suitable for users up to 6 foot tall. It's light, but sturdy, and can be stored vertically. If space is an issue for you, this model is easy to move around and put out of the way when you're not using it.

ASSEMBLY
One of the easiest rowing machines to assemble. It comes mostly pre-assembled and in just six parts. You don't need any advance DIY skills to finish the job, and shouldn't take longer than 25 minutes for most.

The Dripex Magnetic Rower
The rowing position is good for a budget machine. The sculptured seat is well-designed and comfortable, and should suit the average-sized butt :0) But what lets this model down are the footrests. They're not the easiest to tighten, but one the straps are secured they will hold your feet in place, but there are far better ways to do this than the design on this model.
The resistance mechanism is magnetic which means it's smooth and quiet in use. Note, the purists will tell you magnets don't provide the same feel as rowing on water, but if you're not training for rowing an actual boat it's not an issue. There are 16 levels of resistance that are selected using a knob on the central console. But if you're in good shape, you might find the highest level is not that challenging. In fact, you won't notice much of a difference between the highest and lowest resistance settings. |

Well it does have a red button :0)
DISPLAY CONSOLE
The very basic monitor is adequate to display workout data such as duration, distance (in meters), stroke count, and calories (although this is an estimate like the majority of rowers). It has a scan mode so each of the data every six seconds. It does have a tablet holder, but note the promotional material shows a tablet with rowing boats, but this is not a workout program (you'd have to pay at least three times the price for real river workouts.)
REVIEW SUMMARY:
It's a low-cost model so you can't expect a top machine, but it does offer a reasonable workout for the price. Yes, it's a basic rowing machine with few features. If both your budget and space at home is limited, this is sufficient to help get you started on a fitness program. But if you're already in pretty good shape, then this is probably not for you.

ALTERNATIVES
The Echanfit Magnetic R42 is a similar model with slightly better features for around the same price. But for a little extra, the Merach Q1S is a better model in my view.
